This Privacy Policy explains how KarmyaJobs (“KarmyaJobs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use our website, web application, and mobile apps (collectively, the “Service”).

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information. Name, email address, and authentication data, handled by our authentication provider (Clerk) when you sign up or sign in.
• Job search criteria. The free-text description of the job you're looking for (role, seniority, industry, location, salary, and anything else you provide), along with saved searches and preferences (search radius, feed freshness window, and AI model choice).
• Resume data. If you upload a resume, we store it (compressed) so it can be used to improve your matches. You can delete it at any time.
• Usage and match data. Jobs you like, skip, or move through your Task Board, and the resulting match scores and AI-generated rationale, which we use to personalize your feed.
• Location data. With your permission, your device's approximate location, used to filter non-remote jobs to your search radius. You can disable this in your browser or device settings at any time.
• Billing information. If you subscribe to a paid plan or purchase credits, payment is processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card number.
• Device and log data. IP address, browser type, and usage analytics collected automatically to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

2. How we use your information

• To operate the Service, including generating and ranking your job feed.
• To personalize matches based on your criteria, likes, and skips.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions and credits.
• To send you feed updates, alerts, and service-related communications.
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. AI processing

Job postings and elements of your criteria are processed by third-party AI providers (such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or DeepSeek, depending on the model you select in Preferences) in order to score postings and generate match rationale. We share only what is necessary to perform this processing, and these providers are contractually restricted from using your data to train their own models except where required by their own terms.

4. Shared pooled matching

To keep the free tier free, factual analysis of a job posting (facts about the posting itself, not tied to any individual) may be cached and reused across users with similar search criteria. Your own free-text criteria, resume, and identity are never shown to other users.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

• Service providers who help us operate the Service (hosting, authentication, payments, AI matching, analytics, and error monitoring).
• Law enforcement or regulators, where required by law.
• A successor entity, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

6. Data retention

We retain your account, criteria, and match history for as long as your account is active. You may delete your resume, saved searches, or account at any time; deleted data is removed from active systems and purged from backups on a rolling basis.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. If you are in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — which, as noted above, we do not do.

8. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit and at rest for sensitive data, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International data transfers

We and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for such transfers.

10. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on this page with a new effective date.
